The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has many implications within the practice of law. In this one-hour May 20, 2024 program, Patrick M. Connors, Esquire reviews cases in which AI has been used in the preparation of documents and has produced fabricated cases. Unverified generative AI has led attorneys to submit cases that do not exist, cite cases that do not support their position, and submit non-existent judicial opinions, all resulting from artificial intelligence "hallucinations." Mr. Connors is the Albert and Angela Farone Distinguished Professor In New York Civil Practice at Albany Law School, where he teaches, inter alia, Legal Ethics.
