Virginia Attorneys: Earn EIGHT (8) of Your MCLE Credits With These Distance Learning Courses
Although courses on nlfonline.com are available for your review for one year from date of individual course or subscription purchase, Distance Learning courses for Virginia MUST be completed and evaluations submitted on or before October 31 in order to receive CLE credit for this year's reporting cycle. Courses purchased before October 31, but completed November 1 or later, may not be eligible for Virginia CLE Credit.

The Virginia Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Board reminds participants that all distance learning courses are to be done in an educational setting, free from distractions.

Attorneys!

  • Virginia attorneys must earn 12 MCLE Credits each year
    (Nov. 1-Oct. 31), including
    2 Ethics/Professionalism Credits
    .
  • Virginia allows you to earn Eight (8) of your CLE Credits, including Ethics/Professionalism, Well-Being and General Credits, through participation in approved Distance Learning courses.
  • Each active member of the Virginia State Bar shall certify whether they have attended, within the past three (3) years, at least one (1) credit hour of lawyer well-being education related to the practice of law. Note: Failure to comply with this rule shall not subject the member to the penalties of Paragraph 13.2 of these rules. It is important to note that attorneys cannot be administratively suspended for failure to comply with this rule.
  • Each of these National Law Foundation Online programs is approved for Virginia Distance Learning CLE credit.
  • After completing your NLFOnline course and submitting a brief evaluation, you may print a Certificate of Completion for your records.
  • REPORTING
    VA MCLE self-certifying instructions are printed on each Virginia  Certificate of Completion. Attorneys may report their NLFOnline credits to the Virginia MCLE Board in any one of three ways:
    • Online at www.vsb.org
    • By mail
    • By fax
